How to boost a post with a GIF from your Facebook Page

You can use gifs when you make any type of ad from your Page.

To begin;

  1. Log in to www. facebook.com with your login details
  2. Go to Facebook ads Page HERE
  3. Click on the blue Promote button on the left to see all the ad format options.
  4. Create a post with a link to your GIF or upload a GIF directly.
  5. If you used a link, wait for the preview of your GIF to load.
  6. Post it to your Page.
  7. Find the post on your Page (you may need to reload).
  8. You can now click Boost Post to promote it to an audience beyond your Facebook followers.

How to Upload a GIF in Facebook Ads Manager

  1. Choose any objective which supports video.
  2. Select Single Video in the Format section.
  3. Upload your .gif file exactly as you would a video.

Tip: If you don’t have a link to a GIF already, you can use a GIF website such as GIPHY:

  1. Go to GIPHY.Com
  2. Upload a new GIF or choose an existing GIF to use in your post.
  3. Click on the ADVANCED tab below the GIF.
  4. Select the link in the GIF DOWNLOAD field to find available GIFs for upload in Ads Manager. You can also copy (CMD+C/CTRL+C) and paste (CMD+V/CTRL+V) a GIF link to your Page post.

For Better Results;

  1. Choose high-quality images or animations.
  2. Choose subtle motion.
  3. Use a link ending with .gif.
  4. Use a GIF with a file size less than 8MB.
  5. Use a GIF with less than 20% text on the image.
  6. Avoid GIFs that flash or are grainy, as your boosted post may not be approved.
  7. Avoid splashy, one-off posts. The best GIFs are used in a series to tell a bigger story.
  8. GIFs may not play on all mobile devices. For better results on older phones and slower networks, try slideshow video ads.
